    Kitchen Cabinet Painting in Vancouver

Painting can refresh a kitchen when the layout works and the cabinet doors and boxes are sound. Tegron Painting has served Greater Vancouver since 2007, with 19 years of painting experience. Our cabinet service includes doors, drawer fronts and boxes, as well as bathroom vanities and built-in cabinetry.

Our preparation includes degreasing, sanding, filling, priming and spraying. The cabinet material, existing coating and surface condition determine the suitable preparation and coating system; discuss these details when requesting your free estimate.

    Our Cabinet Painting Process

From removing and labelling hardware to preparation, spraying and reinstalling, each stage contributes to the finished result.

    1

    Degrease & De-gloss

Kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking grease. We remove doors and hardware, label everything, then wash every surface with a degreaser so the primer can actually bond.

    2

    Sand & Fill

Every face and edge gets sanded to break the factory sheen. Dents, chips, and grain are filled and re-sanded so the finish reads flat and even.

    3

    Bonding Primer

Primer selection depends on the cabinet material and existing finish. A compatible bonding primer prepares the assessed surface for the chosen cabinet coating.

    4

    Spray the Topcoats

Two sprayed coats of cabinet-grade enamel in a controlled, masked-off area. No brush marks, no roller stipple — a smooth, washable, durable finish.

    5

    Cure & Reinstall

Doors cure flat before we rehang them, realign hinges, reinstall your labelled hardware, and walk the kitchen with you before we leave.

    Cabinet Refinishing vs. Refacing

Cabinet refinishing keeps your existing doors, drawer fronts and boxes and gives them a new coating system — degreased, sanded, primed and sprayed. This is the service we provide, and it suits kitchens where the layout works and the cabinets are sound.

Cabinet refacing replaces the doors and drawer fronts and covers the boxes with new veneer. It costs more and makes sense when doors are damaged beyond repair or you want a different door style. Full replacement is the further step when the layout or cabinet boxes no longer work.

Are Your Cabinets Suitable for Painting?

Material and condition matter. Sound wood, some laminates and previously finished surfaces may be suitable when the primer and topcoat are compatible. Swollen panels, loose coverings or active moisture damage need assessment before painting; a new finish does not repair failing construction.

    • Check door edges, drawer fronts and cabinet boxes for swelling, peeling or loose coverings.
    • Discuss cleaning, sanding and primer compatibility for your existing surface.
    • Ask about handling and care instructions: dry-to-touch and fully cured are different stages.

What Shapes Your Cabinet Painting Quote?

Every kitchen is quoted on its own details: the number of doors and drawer fronts, whether cabinet boxes and vanities are included, the current condition of the surfaces, how much preparation and repair is needed, and the primer and application method the material calls for.

    Cabinet Painting Questions

What is the difference between cabinet refinishing and refacing?

Refinishing keeps your existing doors, drawer fronts and boxes and applies a new coating system — this is the service Tegron Painting provides. Refacing replaces the doors and covers the boxes with new veneer, which costs more and suits cabinets whose doors are damaged beyond repair. If your layout works and the boxes are sound, refinishing is usually the simpler option.

Can laminate or thermofoil cabinets be painted?

Some laminates and previously finished surfaces can be painted when the primer and topcoat are compatible with the material. Loose, peeling or swollen coverings need assessment first — a new finish does not repair failing construction. We check this at the estimate.

Do you brush or spray kitchen cabinets?

We spray. Doors and drawer fronts are removed, labelled and sprayed with cabinet-grade enamel in a controlled, masked-off area, then cured flat before rehanging. Spraying avoids brush marks and roller stipple.

How long does cabinet painting take?

The timeline depends on the number of doors and drawer fronts, the preparation needed, and curing time between coats. We confirm a schedule for your kitchen when we provide your written estimate.

Which areas do you serve for cabinet painting?

We paint cabinets across Greater Vancouver: Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond, Coquitlam, New Westminster, North Vancouver and Delta.
